Hopelessness is not an option.

[Part One]

Here is how this is going to go down.
His glory is going to cover the earth like the waters cover the sea, which is to say, pretty thoroughly.

Are you on board with that?

Because if you are white knuckling it to the finish, I don’t think that you’ve read the Book properly.  Sure…there are ebbs and flows.  Sure..nations rise and fall as they turn to Him or away from Him.
But of the increase of His kingdom there will be no end…He will establish it and uphold it and the zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform it.

So pretty much, game, set, and match.

You can ride the crest of the wave or you can hide in a dingy, but this thing is going down with or without you.

I’m not saying that there aren’t threatening waves or an occasional angry looking sky as the waters of His righteousness roar through the cavernous places of this planet and shake everything that will be shaken.

But He is Lord of the wind and the waves.

He can take even the stinger of evil and turn it to good.

When we say things like King and Kings and Lord of Lords, they aren’t just superfluous  titles like OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) that you receive for standing on a stage and reciting lines that a smarter but less attractive person wrote (I love BBC…no haters, please).

He actually rules over all things…it’s not a title…it’s His essence…it’s in His blood, literally.
So what are you imagining is taking Him down?  What event, institution, or sin is so powerful that He just can’t compete?

I’m not saying that there aren’t troubling things happening culturally in the West or that there aren’t sobering realities.
What I am saying is that these things are no match for a Church that understands who He is and then sees His reflection in these image bearers that He has redeemed.

So, here is how this is going to work…
No more using or living by the tools and timing of this fallen world…

And it starts right here, with laying down fear and embracing hope…the confident expectation of His good.
He’s on the move…you can’t be on the move with Him from a crouching position.

Hopelessness is Not an Option.

  1. soo encouraging Pastor Rachel!! love you!! love the Preacher girls!! you all rock!! way to go God nothing is impossible with You!!

  2. I was just saying the same thing yesterday…I am expecting some very rough waters for the church; I have long suspected persecution would find its beginnings in this issue. But when I read and meditate on what God has said about who He is and how one day He is going to set this whole thing right, I am excited. His kingdom lost nothing yesterday.

    1. Paula,

We can feel the weight of the times that we are living through, without being weighed down by them, right?! The world needs Christ followers leading who are full of Hope, no one ever followed a hopeless leader. I hope you get a chance to read Part Two…it’s up today.

Courage…as we go further up and further in!
      Rachel
